ArtSpeaking: My Science Project, the culminating performance piece of my MFA, marks my transformation into dance researcher. In it I make peace with my previous intensive training in the sciences by performing first person research and making non-instrumental reason visible.
Blog: I did a lot of in-studio integrating of my influences during my grad school days at Bennington College. In this piece, My Science Project, I acknowledged my previous scientific training as an undergraduate physics major, and had my coming out as a performance researcher. This was one of my exiting grad school dances, and you will see how I have learned to frame my sensory investigations for performance in proscenium-appropriate fashion ;). Thanks again to Pooh Kaye for providing her videography skills.
